Bosch are global leader in the development and manufacturing of vehicle Electronic systems with over 160 production plants operating in 28 countries. In Germany alone Bosch employ 60,000 people at 29 production sites working on the development, production and testing and is continually researching and developing advanced electronic technologies for the automotive sector. Bosch currently employ in excess of 2,000 employees in the UK a figure that looks set to rise. Bosch have won a total of 24 awards for quality at its alternator site in Cardiff further reflecting the quality of all Bosch automotive products.

Since 1998 Vantec have enjoyed a successful relationship with Bosch and Nissan handling parts for the Nissan car plant in Washington. During this time services have been provided for the receipt, storage picking and despatch of Bosch products as well as the control of returnable packaging.

Vantec receive on average 12 containers per week containing parts from Bosch production plants in Europe. The product is received, scanned and stored before the parts are picked and sequenced ready for delivery into the Nissan car plant. In excess of 500 boxes per day are shipped into Nissan over two shifts on hourly time slots.

About 1990 Robert Bosch Diesel Systems Division were looking to dramatically increase business with Cummins Engines Company at Darlington. Most of the supplies of Bosch Diesel Injection Pumps, Injectors and other equipment were sourced from German factories however some re-sourcing to our Bosch factories in India, under the auspices of the Bosch subsidiary there, MICO was to take place. The obvious difficulties with Logistics and "Just-in-Time" requirements of our customer, Cummins UK, meant Robert Bosch looked for a competent and proven partner in the N.E. of England to provide warehousing, configuration and delivery services. VEL became a natural choice for us and Bosch were able to recommend VEL to Cummins, who ultimately were put in full control of the Cummins Darlington factory warehousing facilities. Without the services of VEL for Cummins, Robert Bosch would have been unable to achieve the excellent supply position with our customer which we enjoy today.
